Spring.Summer 2023 starts at VIEW

VIEW PREMIUM SELECTION SPRING.SUMMER 2023

18. October 2021

With the successful edition of MUNICH FABRIC START, we were able to organise a prime example of physical trade shows under the new conditions – with increased motivation and great anticipation, we have now started planning VIEW Premium Selection from 30 November – 1 December 2021.

Especially for our industry, personal exchange and the tactile experience of materials is essential. The Preview Textile Trade Show VIEW is particularly important for us: we can hardly wait to see the industry again soon in a productive, pleasant working atmosphere at the MVG Museum in Munich.

The VIEW sees itself as a high-quality fabric and ingredients fair, which is well ahead of the established textile fair MUNICH FABRIC START and other European fabric fairs. As a small, fine industry get-together, VIEW is aimed at creatives and buyers in the fashion industry who need or want to be informed about the latest trends and developments for material developments, colours trends and innovations in good time.

At VIEW you will find a strong portfolio of premium collections from trendy innovations to fine fabrics, from high-end sportswear fabrics to high-quality basics. Plus an informative selection of labels and buttons.

Be there at the next VIEW by MUNICH FABRIC START to see the first trends and developments well before the official trade show event, January 25-27, 2022. Visitor registration will open soon for the next VIEW Premium Selection. Until then, look forward to browsing the collections and new materials from the following exhibitors and more coming up at VIEW:

Season Starts in Autumn 2021

No VIEW in July 2021 due to
extended event ban by Bavarian government

3. June 2021

Against the backdrop of decreasing infection numbers in Germany as well as across Europe and with a step- by-step ease of current measures in sight, the chances for VIEW Premium Selection from 13 – 14 July 2021 have been very good. The response from the industry has been enormous, the demand for the Preview Textile Show is high: VIEW is fully booked in the new location with more than 230 international textile and accessory manufacturers!

Despite this positive situation, the Bavarian government has extended the current ban on events beyond 14 July 2021. Unfortunately, this regulation has a direct impact on the trade fair planning for VIEW Premium Selection. Authorities will not grant the necessary permit for VIEW in mid-July. Therefore, the organisers have no other possibility than to cancel their next VIEW Premium Selection.

“This decision hits us and the entire industry very hard after almost a year without physical trade shows. However, it is irreversible. Despite a close exchange and repeated follow ups with the corresponding authorities, it was not possible to secure the official approval or exemption for VIEW. We have invested a lot of work, effort and good faith in the preparation of VIEW in order to meet the current regulations for a Covid-19 compliant event with solution-oriented measures. Our planning has been further confirmed by the current developments and declining infection numbers. Given this overall situation, the decision taken by the authorities is especially hard to accept.”

Sebastian Klinder, Managing Director Munich Fabric Start

The organisers had decided early on to move the VIEW Premium Selection to the spacious MOC Munich as part of the Covid-19 compliant implementation of a trade event. With a detailed satellite concept for the different areas and outdoor catering areas, the organisers were well prepared for the current requirements.

Go for MUNICH FABRIC START and BLUEZONE

Now, in accordance with this decree from the Bavarian Ministry of State, the organisers are focusing all of their energy on the upcoming MUNICH FABRIC START from 31 August – 2 September 2021 as well as BLUEZONE from 31 August to 1 September 2021.

In short, this means: Green light for the realisation of the International Textile Trade Show MUNICH FABRIC START and the International Denim Trade Show BLUEZONE!

MUNICH FABRIC START
31/08 – 02/09/2021

BLUEZONE
31/08 – 01/09/2021

“We are now concentrating twice as hard on the further organisation of the upcoming MUNICH FABRIC START at the MOC Munich and BLUEZONE on the Zenith grounds. Here, we are doing everything we can to once again provide the industry with the usual portfolio and services that people expect from us. We are incredibly excited to be able to return to a bit of normality despite and with Covid-19: at least at our trade fairs in Munich.”

Frank Junker, Creative Director Munich Fabric Start

The organisers’ aim is to once again present the established international premium portfolio at the MOC for the following segments at MUNICH FABRIC START: Fabrics, Additionals, Bluezone, Keyhouse, Design Studios, Sourcing, ReSource and Sustainable Innovations. At BLUEZONE, trade visitors can also expect the proven spectrum of international denim weavers and manufacturers at the Zenith Area together with a newly staged innovation hub with Keyhouse.

Change of location for VIEW Premium Selection

VIEW Autumn.Winter 22/23 takes place in MOC Munich & Coal bunker

23. March 2021

Personal exchange and the haptic experience of materials is particularly important in our industry. Which is why we are all the more looking forward to implementing a physical platform again, with and for the industry.

With a healthy mix of confidence and realism, we started planning the trade fairs in the coming summer months and we can’t wait to welcome you at VIEW Premium Selection from 13 – 14 July 2021 in MOC Munich and in Coal bunker on the Zenith site.

Our highest priority: your security! We keep a very close eye on current developments and continually assess the options and requirements for physical trade fairs in times of a pandemic. The most important prerequisite is that our trade fairs can take place safely, smoothly and compliant with Covid-19 for our visitors and everyone involved.

One-time change of location of VIEW Premium Selection

After carefully examining the needs, options and applicable Covid-19 measures, we decided to organise VIEW Premium Selection from 13 – 14 July 2021 – one week after Frankfurt Fashion Week – in the MOC and coal bunker on the Zenith site.

With this one-time change of location, a trade fair in compliance with the necessary requirements for Covid-19 is possible: Besides a spacious venue and outside area, generous stand and catering areas, wide walking paths to maintain the minimum distances, good infrastructure, sufficient parking spaces, nearby accommodation as well as efficient ventilation systems with fresh air supply are provided here. Therefore, the complete trade fair event is located in one place.

The traditional VIEW summer feeling awaits you in the outside area of the Drivers Club, which connects the MOC with the Zenith area. Of course, we will offer our usual services such as trend forums, café bars and free lunches in order to be able to offer you the familiar atmosphere of VIEW.

Rediscover the well-known VIEW premium portfolio

The spacious area offers the possibility of realising VIEW as a satellite concept. We are planning to spread out the individual exhibition areas from one another in order to separate the trade fair across this spacious area.

You will find the areas FABRICS, ADDITIONALS and DESIGN STUDIOS in Atrium 4 in the MOC and the areas DENIM & SPORTSWEAR in Coal bunker on the Zenith site.

All detailed information can be found in the information brochure:

Only with solidarity and loyalty can we realise our common goal for the industry – which is why we hope for your trust and support and we are glad to hear from you at any time if you have any further questions.

Upcoming FABRIC DAYS is No Longer Possible

Upcoming FABRIC DAYS is no longer possible

Spring.Summer 22 edition planned for beginning of March cancelled

14. January 2021

With the goal to realise a physical event for the fashion industry also in the Spring.Summer 22 season, our team has worked continuously to organise the second edition of FABRIC DAYS. We wanted to repeat what was proven in September 2020 with the sales focused, condensed business format: that efficient work is possible under the changed conditions thanks to strict hygiene and safety measures.

However, FABRIC DAYS planned for the beginning of March, does not follow after the summer months with lower infection numbers as the September edition had, but instead follows the winter months with persistently high infection numbers. Within the last weeks, the infection numbers in Germany and in Europe have unfortunately not definitively changed, which is why the German Government has prolonged and even intensified the current lockdown until at least January 31st 2021.

There are only 7 weeks until the beginning of March – unfortunately there is still no sign that the necessary decrease in infection rates will occur during this short period of time. Therefore, we currently have to assume that there will be no political basis on which trade fairs will be approved in Germany by then. In addition, travel restrictions are still in effect and the health and security of all visitors, exhibitors and service providers is as always of the highest priority.

With the current level of knowledge as well as the experiences from the past months, which serve as the basis for a realistic assessment of further developments in the coming weeks, FABRIC DAYS at the beginning of March is unfortunately no longer justifiable. We feel therefore compelled to cancel FABRIC DAYS from 2 – 4 March 2021.

Sebastian Klinder

“This decision is one of our hardest since the beginning of the pandemic, if not since we started organising trade shows for the fashion and textile industry. To this day we believed that by joining forces we would be able to repeat our success from September. Especially thanks to the numerous exhibitor registrations and the great trust and support from the industry. Unfortunately, the situation is different in the current winter months and has made planning an event impossible.”

Sebastian Klinder, Managing Director Munich Fabric Start

In the coming weeks, we will, true to the motto of the Spring.Summer 22 season “WE ARE ALL IN”, concentrate on providing our long-term exhibitors and visitors with a new basis of information and inspiration and examine the options for the next trade fair.

VIEW Premium Selection in July 2020 Cancelled

VIEW PREMIUM SELECTION IN JULY 2020 CANCELLED

To our dear exhibitors, visitors and fashion community,

In the current difficult and uncertain situation, it is more important than ever to work together and to face the newly emerging challenges as a strong community. In that respect, we are aware of the great importance and relevance our trade fairs has for manufacturers and fashion companies as a platform for exchange and business.

Like you, we have dealt extensively with the continuous developments around Covid-19 in recent weeks and are in close contact with authorities, service companies, associations and players in the textile industry to develop possible scenarios for the organisation of trade fairs.

Following the political decisions of 15 April 2020 and the associated extended ban on major events in Germany until 31 August 2020, we held valuable discussions with other trade fair organisers and visitors. Also, in view of the fact that VIEW does not necessarily fall under the definition of a major event, we asked our exhibitors in a survey about their current situation and the situation of the market to examine whether the timing for a preview trade fair makes sense under the given circumstances.

The survey showed that the majority of the market has no need for a preview textile fair in this extraordinary situation, as new collections cannot be developed in time due to the confirmed production delays. Moreover, the ban on major events and travel restrictions, which are likely to remain in place for some time and vary from country to country within the EU, does not allow for the necessary planning for a trade fair event in July. Another aspect is the active uncertainty among exhibitors and visitors operating outside of Germany when considering visiting a trade fair in just a few weeks. The unknown availability regarding hotels and restaurants during a stay in Munich reinforces this. Above all, the health and safety of our exhibitors and visitors is our top priority.

“Based on these valuable insights and the feedback of experts and producers against the background of current developments, we are compelled to cancel VIEW Premium Selection on July 14 – 15, 2020. This decision is a very difficult one for us. We deeply regret that we will not be able to hold our beloved VIEW this summer – especially since we know how important it is for the textile industry to exchange personal information and resume business relations as quickly as possible. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our exhibitors, visitors and our service partners for their great loyalty, optimism and trust in us at all times which we greatly appreciate. We’re continuing to do our best to provide an optimal platform as soon as possible.”

Sebastian Klinder, Managing Director MUNICH FABRIC START

“Our goal now is to be able to organise MUNICH FABRIC START from 01 – 03 September 2020 followed by VIEW Premium Selection from 08 – 09 December 2020. Of course, following the necessary pre-cautions, which includes ongoing integrated hygiene measures as well as controlled visitor guidance and minimum distance rules on site. Together with various specialists, we are currently working on a step-by-step plan with specific recommendations for action on the implementation of trade fairs which take into account any official regulations.”

Frank Junker, Creative Director MUNICH FABRIC START

The ban on major events in Germany is currently in effect until August 31st 2020, which according to current planning means we offer the first possible platform to kick off the Autumn.Winter 21/22 season with our MUNICH FABRIC START trade fair date. The numerous stand registrations already received are a great support for our efforts. Visitors can get a preview of the Spring.Summer 22 season at the subsequent VIEW Premium Selection from 8 – 9 December 2020.

From all the team at Munich Fabric Start we want to thank everyone who is actively shaping the future together with us and we are looking forward to a reunion with all industry players in Munich again soon.

Stay healthy!

A Message From Us

During this difficult and uncertain phase, the thoughts and sympathy of the entire MUNICH FABRIC START team are especially with people who live in countries without a functioning healthcare system or facing evacuation. We are aware of the impact on the global textile industry and see the great challenges our industry has to face.

As trade fair organisers, the current situation also prevents the heart of our business: bringing together people and exchanging information in the industry. We are aware of the great importance and relevance of our trade fair for manufacturers and fashion companies.

In this situation, the next meeting and exchange of ideas will become incredibly important. We want to set an example by offering a perspective and providing the textile industry a platform with optimal conditions as soon as possible. To achieve this, we remain flexible in our actions and are prepared to respond to any future developments. We are currently organising the next fair as usual and are working at full capacity to ensure that MUNICH FABRIC START in September 2020 can take place on the planned date.

The current time of isolation and social distancing affects all players in the industry which is why coming together at the fair will be immensely valuable. This is confirmed by the usual high number of registrations and positive feedback we are currently receiving. BLUEZONE is already fully booked for September 2020 and we are stunned by the great amount of trust and loyalty placed in us.

At this point in time, it is still too early to make a final statement on the execution of the trade fair. Should there be any changes, we will of course inform you as soon as possible. We are in close contact with other trade fair organizers and rely on the findings of experts and political decisions, without our own interpretations or statements on the current social and political issues.

There are still several months until our trade fair date – valuable time which can be decisive. For the moment, it means waiting for developments in the next few weeks and making decisions on this basis. At this point, we also try to put ourselves in the position of the exhibitors and visitors to find solutions which are best for all parties involved. To this end, we are currently examining various scenarios with which we can react flexibly and in a solution-oriented manner to any changes in government guidelines for events.

We look forward to hopefully welcoming you in Munich soon again. As usual, please don’t hesitate to contact us. In this special time, dialogue is particularly important to us.

Stay healthy!

Your MUNICH FABRIC START team

Spring.Summer 21 Fabric News at VIEW

As in the recent past, the range of collections offered by printers, knitters, weavers and denim specialists is already clearly defined in many areas. In exchange with designers and product managers and taking into account current trends, the range will be extended and adapted accordingly until MUNICH FABRIC START, 4th – 6th February 2020.

It is already apparent that the range of colours is moving in the direction of brown, cognac and terracotta; that black and white combinations are becoming important; that red with a slight orange hue is gaining significance and blue in various shades is increasingly in demand.

‘Right at the beginning of the first day, we served numerous visitors from Germany and Austria. At the moment, we are already presenting up to 80 percent of the new collection. In the weeks after Christmas we will add an additional Capsule collection. There is great interest in sustainable articles. We will be developing further qualities for this in time for the main trade fair.‘

Ted Styliandis of Liberty London.

Florals and newly interpreted batiks continue to dominate the prints as striking all-overs. Digitally applied kaleidoscopic interpretations are just as convincing as large format graphics and panneaux prints. Structured effects and crepe yarns are important, even in plain colours. Linen is widely accepted in various interpretations. From irregular plain colours to woven stripes, checks and jacquards. The trend towards cotton and cotton blends in combination with Tencel is strong once again. In contrast to this are articles with a technical finish – now even extending into the classically oriented women’s and menswear.
The demand for comfortable textiles with some part stretch is also increasing among high-fashion producers or even couture suppliers.

‘This edition of VIEW was a very successful premiere for us. We will be back again in summer for the next VIEW event. The response to our wide range of print collections was pleasingly positive. In discussions with numerous customers, we received a lot of input about the future development of our collection in time for MUNICH FABRIC START.‘

Yesim Sezer, Ipeker

Many of the collections presented at VIEW will now be further revised in the coming weeks and presented at the MUNICH FABRIC START February 4th-6th 2020, at which a total of around 1,000 suppliers will present their Spring.Summer collections.

Sophisticated Collections & Concentrated Information

VIEW PREMIUM SELECTION will open the Spring.Summer 2021 season with an international portfolio showcasing over 400 collections. On December 3rd and 4th 2019, leading fabric, trim and denim suppliers present their preview programs and latest developments in Munich.

Most of the collections shown at this early stage are already well developed with a focus on new fashion trends which will be ultimately be presented at MUNICH FABRIC START and BLUEZONE from February 4th to 6th 2020.

Once again, VIEW confirms its strategic orientation as an early format for new developments, first colour and material trends and a high-quality product portfolio.

“Given the industry’s momentum, many manufacturers have become the new standard for bringing the market to 80% of the collection. Many of our customers use the textile shows in September to complete their collection. We will readjust in the remaining weeks until the main fair, complete individual articles and still work on some textures. But the actual collection concept is already part of the VIEW.“

 Mathias Menger, Yünsa

Represented for the first time at VIEW are Argomenti Tessili, Euromark Industries, T.B.M and agency Fabian from Italy, Ipeker from Turkey and TOC TaeOh Corporation from Korea. Furthermore Jayne Goulding Design from Britain and Barth & Könenkamp Seiden, Könen Additionals as well as SchweigerTochetermann from Germany, among others.

Sustainability will also be one of the key topics at VIEW, which will fundamentally change the industry. The willingness of companies to invest and get involved here is growing from season to season.

Since 2 years, Dutel has been developing a sustainable section in its collection called ‘PURE’ by DUTEL using polyester recycled warp and organic cotton weft yarns. We are planning to swap all our polyester warps into recycled ones.’

Dutel Creation

‘We are sensitive to the use of recycled yarns. Many fabrics from the latest collection are eco-sustainable. The qualities in eco-cotton and viscose ECOVERO are made with sustainable yarns. Our aim is to waste less and re-use the waste of production and consumers as new resources.’

 Lanificio Roma

‘Besides providing sustainable labeling solutions for our customers, we aim to optimize our internal processes as well. By digitalizing our documentation, working on rapid prototyping and investing an increasing amount of time and effort in digital sampling we are reducing input of resources on various levels.’

Bornemann Etiketten

The VIEW Trend Forum will once again show selected ReSOURCE developments that offer innovative alternatives for future-oriented collections. The entire portfolio of collections presented at the VIEW Premium Selection can be found at brands.viewmunich.com.

‘We are very pleased that the interest in VIEW is growing from edition to edition. The increasing internationalization among both suppliers and visitors shows the importance of this appropriate format at this early stage. VIEW is an intensively used business platform that in conjunction with MUNICH FABRIC START and BLUEZONE is set as an overall strategic and content-coordinated format.’
Sebastian Klinder, Managing Director MUNICH FABRIC START

Already in the run-up to the event, visitors to VIEW have the opportunity to find out all the important facts at the trade fair via the new MUNICH FABRIC START app. It allows:

• quick and direct access to all exhibitor details and hall plans.
• a detailed filter function for creating a personal list of exhibitors.
• download of visitor tickets.
• personal follow-up for after the fair.
